This morning I cast on a pair of socks. The yarn was from my Leyburn socks. I wasn't wearing them because of the fit so decided to frog and just make a simple vanilla pair.
They are just plain stockinette with a short row toe and probably a short row heel. Simple and mindless. It's about all my brain can cope with at the moment. (Pattern from Socks from the Toe Up by Wendy D Johnson)
I'll be back blogging and commenting again soon. I just need some time to get my head straight again. I'm still reading, it's just finding the words is difficult :-(
I hope your sock project is soothing for your soul with so much going on in your life right now. Take it easy.
ReplyDeleteThank you hun :-)
DeleteDon't rush back into anything if you aren't ready for it. Take your time. Simple and relaxing is always the best way to go, especially with everything going on.
ReplyDeleteSimple knitting is what is best for you if thats what your mind can cope with, as it is supposed to be fun or relaxing for you. The yarn that you have here is very pretty too, so it suits a simple pattern!
ReplyDeleteThank you :-)
DeleteI love that book, it's how I learned how to knit toe up actually! That exact pattern was my first toe up pattern. Yes, please do take your time and remember how amazing the body/brain is, you'll be on the mend before you know it. Take care!
ReplyDeleteIt's a fab book isn't it. So many people were recommending it I figured I should get a copy. My first toe up sock pattern wasn't the best fit hence why I frogged it. Going to concentrate on finding my perfect vanilla sock so that I can then customise patterns :-)
