WIP Wednesday

I'm a bit scatty with my WIP's at the moment. There are several projects I've not touched in ages and yet instead of working on them I cast on something new. This week I'm wanting to finish off this scrappy sweater, I'm on to the last sleeve now

Unfortunately I messed up my sizings and should probably have done a smaller size. However I've used my eldest son as a guide for measurements and promised my younger son that I will finish it and he can keep it in his drawer until he's big enough. "But then I won't have a new jumper to wear Mummy" he wailed.

Don't worry, I'll cast on another one for you...

It's an Alec. The second time I've knit this pattern, or I guess third time if you count the one I made for my husband. It's a nice pattern, and it's got buttons which is what sold it to my little boy. Hopefully it should knit up quickly!

I love knitting for my children but I am getting a bit sick of raglans at the moment! As soon as these are finished I'm going to knit socks, and shawls, and maybe some wrist warmers. And I should probably finish my crochet blanket too :-S

    1. Thank you :) It's 3 balls of yarn spiralling round and then I just change one when it runs out or if I feel like a new colour :)

  5. Love the jumper, the great thing about knitting a size up is they will grow into it ... and if your boys are anything like mine it won't take long.

    1. Exactly :) Thank you :) My eldest son has recently had a big growth spurt, think he's grown over an inch in the past few months, all his trousers are too short!

  6. Your scrappy sweater is amazing, great colors. Your son reminds me of my third son [I have four], that is something he would have said.

    1. Thank you :) My littlest has a drawer full of jumpers, both ones that I've knitted for him and hand-me-downs from his brother and yet he just has to give me those sad eyes and I'll knit him another one :)

    1. It's fab isn't it. It's an acrylic from Ice Yarns. I used it to make a milo/dress thing for my eldest daughter last year: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/TheSoaringSheep/milo-4

  8. Awesome projects! That blue yarn is gorgeous. I tend to be a bit crafty ADD -- always starting something new before everything else is finished. :-)

  22. I always think it's better to be too big than to small, they grow so quick, he'll soon be wearing it. I love your other sweater on your needles, too. Have a great weekend. Deb x
