Unfortunately I messed up my sizings and should probably have done a smaller size. However I've used my eldest son as a guide for measurements and promised my younger son that I will finish it and he can keep it in his drawer until he's big enough. "But then I won't have a new jumper to wear Mummy" he wailed.
Don't worry, I'll cast on another one for you...
It's an Alec. The second time I've knit this pattern, or I guess third time if you count the one I made for my husband. It's a nice pattern, and it's got buttons which is what sold it to my little boy. Hopefully it should knit up quickly!
I love knitting for my children but I am getting a bit sick of raglans at the moment! As soon as these are finished I'm going to knit socks, and shawls, and maybe some wrist warmers. And I should probably finish my crochet blanket too :-S
Linking in with Tami, Ginny and Nicole
I love the scrappy jumper so bright and different!
ReplyDeleteThank you :) It's 3 balls of yarn spiralling round and then I just change one when it runs out or if I feel like a new colour :)
DeleteThat alec looks awesome...something I should definitely put on my to do list for my little man!
ReplyDeleteI recommend it :)
DeleteBoth projects look great to me! Love the yarn of the scrappy jumper!
ReplyDeleteThank you :) I deliberately kept most of the scrappy jumper hidden. I'm so excited about showing it off, it's so colourful!
Deletelove the colors in the first sweater and you know he will be thrilled when he can fit into it :)
ReplyDeleteThank you :) I've made it with ribbed cuffs so hopefully it won't be too long before he can wear it :)
DeleteLove the jumper, the great thing about knitting a size up is they will grow into it ... and if your boys are anything like mine it won't take long.
ReplyDeleteExactly :) Thank you :) My eldest son has recently had a big growth spurt, think he's grown over an inch in the past few months, all his trousers are too short!
DeleteYour scrappy sweater is amazing, great colors. Your son reminds me of my third son [I have four], that is something he would have said.
ReplyDeleteThank you :) My littlest has a drawer full of jumpers, both ones that I've knitted for him and hand-me-downs from his brother and yet he just has to give me those sad eyes and I'll knit him another one :)
DeleteOh my goodness I am in love with that blue yarn! Love the sparkles too.
ReplyDeleteIt's fab isn't it. It's an acrylic from Ice Yarns. I used it to make a milo/dress thing for my eldest daughter last year: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/TheSoaringSheep/milo-4
DeleteADORE the blue yarn!!
ReplyDeleteIt's fun isn't it, it's from Ice Yarns
DeleteAwesome projects! That blue yarn is gorgeous. I tend to be a bit crafty ADD -- always starting something new before everything else is finished. :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you :) I try to limit my WIP's but when I'm feeling bored or uninspired by them I start casting on new ones :-S
DeleteGreat sweaters. Too bad about the scrappy one. Always good to have a sweater in reserve though.
ReplyDeleteThank you :) Yeah children grow quickly lol
DeleteWhat a pretty blur and look at that dazzle! Live how your babes adore your knits.
ReplyDeleteThank you :) It's a lovely effect, thank you for introducing me to this striping technique :)
