Pretty flower buttons from an Etsy seller
Let's go outside for some better light
Crazy hair!
Pattern was Happy Days by Emily K Williams and was part of an issue of Knit Now magazine. I used Jamieson's Shetland Spindrift in Lipstick and Royal. I followed the pattern as written apart from changing the button holes slightly because the numbers didn't work for me. I made the 2 years size for my 2.5 year old daughter but she's rather petite. I'm very tempted to make the 3 year size for her for next Winter!
This was my first time doing a colourwork garment (apart from a rather badly knitted hat when I first started knitting!) and definitely my first time steeking. I crocheted on either side of the steek before cutting it because I'm a scaredy-cat! It worked beautifully and I'm very pleased with it :-) Definitely want to use this technique again, it's so clever!
Linking in with FO Friday, Fibre Arts Friday Friday and Creative Friday. Have a good weekend everyone, thanks for visiting :-)

ReplyDeleteSuper project! (Adorable daughter, too!)
ReplyDeleteYour little model obviously loves her new cardigan!!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness she does, I think if she'd turned her nose up at it I would have cried lol
DeleteShe is growing up this hammy little one. What a warm cardigan this looks. Excellent job. You have a terrific looking kitchen.
ReplyDeleteShe starts pre-school next week. Only for two mornings a week but she's getting far too big for my liking :(
DeleteLOVE IT! and she is just so cute!!! She obviously reallu loves the cardi and who can blame her! Well done !
ReplyDeleteThank you :-) She's very aware of how cute she is and is not afraid to look up at you with her big blue eyes and long eyelashes lol
DeleteThat sweater is amazing and that little girlie is pretty fantastic too! Taking pictures of toddlers is so funny!
ReplyDeleteThank you :-) I think with toddler pictures you've just got to go with it lol
DeleteWow, well done for being brave enough to try steeking. I still haven't got to that point!
ReplyDeleteIt was rather scary I must say! Kind of magic the way it works though
DeleteLove the sweater, and the cute toddler pictures :)
ReplyDeleteOh I love this cardigan, and she is definitely a sweetie!
ReplyDeleteThank you :-)
DeleteLove it! I wasn't sure if she wanted her photo taken in the first one but as I scrolled down I saw your model ham it up. The cardi is adorable...along with the model.
ReplyDeleteHam is definitely the right word for her lol. Thank you :)
DeleteLovely photos! What a cute little girl and your sweater is great - also like your kitchen!
