Incidentally, here's the almost finished collar for my Little Spare Time sweater, it still needs sewing into place and I need to do the pockets and weave in the ends but I'm close to finishing now. The collar is asymmetric, not just photographed wonky ;-)
I'd been fancying doing some cabling and wanted to make myself some more wrist warmers so I had a browse on ravelry and came up with the "Coast to Coast" pattern. The yarn I'm using hasn't photographed at all accurately, it's actually a pretty greeny-blue colour with silver sparkle. It's showing the cables off nicely so I'm looking forward to seeing how it knits up :-)
Next up I have a pair of socks using Mothy and the Squid yarn in the "Black Skies Rainbow" colourway. I'm loving how it's pooling
I'm using the Bandwagon socks pattern which is free on ravelry and has a herringbone lace pattern. I'm hoping the pattern is simple enough to work with the yarn I've chosen. Can't see much of it yet so I'm planning on adding a few more rows today
Lastly I have some plain, boring, vanilla socks...
Knitted in sparkly, self striping, rainbow yarn :-D Oh I love self striping socks, they knit up so quickly lol. I'm trying to savour these although it's very easy to just knit one more stripe, just get to the next colour... Hehe :-)
I've taken my last antibiotics for my ear infection this morning but it's still not quite right. I woke up at 3am hurting as my painkillers had worn off so it's still a bit sore. I'm needing less pain relief during the day which is good. I just wish I could hear out of it properly, it feels like my ear needs to pop, like when you're on a plane. Unpleasant.

ReplyDeleteIt doesn't does it :) Thanks
DeleteI love those Black Skies Rainbow socks. The black looks great with those colors. Nothing boring when you have striping socks! I hope your ear is feeling better soon. Ear aches are the worst pain.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I love them too. Ear is about 95% better now thank goodness. Just waiting for the slight deafness to fade :-S
DeleteI've had two sinus/ear infections so far this season...so I understand...I got off the second round of meds last week...but am still feeling congested....I adore self striping sock yarn! I have bought a ton of it.....I am loving the socks...I love yarns that have black and bright colors too...
ReplyDeleteOh how miserable! I had a sinus infection once when we were moving house. Felt so sorry for myself, couldn't even sleep because closing my eyes hurt. Hope you've beaten your bugs and feel better soon
DeleteThat red is just perfect!! Beautiful projects :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteI LOVE that Black Skies Rainbow colourway. How utterly gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThe red and blues of the two top projects are amazing as well. What lovely colours to be working with :)
It's gorgeous isn't it, I could probably buy most of the dyers yarns, she has such an eye for bright colours.
DeleteNo handknit socks could ever be plain! All of your cast ons are beautiful! I hope that your ear is better soon. xx
ReplyDeletehehe that is true. Thank you :) Think my ear is nearly better, I'm just slightly deaf still
DeleteI'm sorry you're still suffering from this persistent ear infection. Damn. Get well soon. I like your intended fingerless mittens pattern.
ReplyDeleteThank you, they're horrible things aren't they. Mostly better now, just a bit deaf!
DeleteSo far I am being good, but the urge to cast on a baby blanket and a shawl is strong. Hopefully I will keep strong until I finish one of the current WIPs.
ReplyDeleteArgh don't mention blankets, I'm having serious cravings to start a sock yarn blanket after watching too many Little Bobbins podcasts...
DeleteOh those are some wonderful rainbow colours to brighten up a very wet and grey January - I love the socks!
ReplyDeleteYou have some very nice projects in the works. I'm sorry you are suffering with an ear infection. They do take some time to clear up. I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you :) It's nearly better thank goodness. Just a bit deaf!
