A Case of "Cast-on-itis"

Since feeling well enough to knit again I've had a bit of a cast on session. I've still got a couple of hats I need to start that I've been promising a friend for months so will get them done once I've finished the sweater.

Incidentally, here's the almost finished collar for my Little Spare Time sweater, it still needs sewing into place and I need to do the pockets and weave in the ends but I'm close to finishing now. The collar is asymmetric, not just photographed wonky ;-)

I'd been fancying doing some cabling and wanted to make myself some more wrist warmers so I had a browse on ravelry and came up with the "Coast to Coast" pattern. The yarn I'm using hasn't photographed at all accurately, it's actually a pretty greeny-blue colour with silver sparkle. It's showing the cables off nicely so I'm looking forward to seeing how it knits up :-)

Next up I have a pair of socks using Mothy and the Squid yarn in the "Black Skies Rainbow" colourway. I'm loving how it's pooling

I'm using the Bandwagon socks pattern which is free on ravelry and has a herringbone lace pattern. I'm hoping the pattern is simple enough to work with the yarn I've chosen. Can't see much of it yet so I'm planning on adding a few more rows today

Lastly I have some plain, boring, vanilla socks...

Knitted in sparkly, self striping, rainbow yarn :-D Oh I love self striping socks, they knit up so quickly lol. I'm trying to savour these although it's very easy to just knit one more stripe, just get to the next colour... Hehe :-)

I've taken my last antibiotics for my ear infection this morning but it's still not quite right. I woke up at 3am hurting as my painkillers had worn off so it's still a bit sore. I'm needing less pain relief during the day which is good. I just wish I could hear out of it properly, it feels like my ear needs to pop, like when you're on a plane. Unpleasant.

  10. So far I am being good, but the urge to cast on a baby blanket and a shawl is strong. Hopefully I will keep strong until I finish one of the current WIPs.

    1. Argh don't mention blankets, I'm having serious cravings to start a sock yarn blanket after watching too many Little Bobbins podcasts...
