WIP Wednesday - Scrappy hoody

My scrappy hoody is knitting up soo quickly at the moment, it's great! I've done the body and the hood and I'm over halfway through the first sleeve. I've also sewn in most of the ends already too so that will save me time with finishing up :-)

I've changed the design of the hood slightly so it's a pixie hood because it's for my little girl and she looks cute in pixie hoods. I did start to regret it towards the end when I had to kitchener stitch the two sides together... I'll show photos of the finished hoody soon hopefully.

My other WIP is the solid granny squares blanket. I've not really done much for it this week to be honest. I'm in more of a knitting mood at the moment I think

I've also started planning out the projects I want to make for "the C word" (popular holiday in December which commonly involves exchanging gifts). One of the patterns is rather scary to me as it involves colourwork and steeking. More on that in a later post though ;-)

As usual I'm linking in with Tami's Amis WIP Wednesday posts. Looking forward to reading what you've been up to :)

  2. Scrappy hoody?!? I like the sound of that. Smart cookie to sew in the ends as you go. :)

    1. hehe I've knitted scrappy things before, sewing the ends in small batches is much easier than having them all at the end

    1. I think I might be able to oblige! Although I've had to rip back the sleeves a couple of times and have temporarily put the hoody in time out >:-s

  4. What a fun hoodie. I'm impressed how you know how to switch to a pixie hood. Love your hooked squares.

  5. I love the scrappy hoody! So cute and I love the colors. Did you use a pattern or are you one of those talented knitters that designs her own? I'm loving the idea of a solid granny square blanket. Different colored squares but each square one color. Very nice!

    1. I've been using the Sleuthing hoody pattern as a basis for the numbers but have altered the hood and would probably alter the sleeves too as they're quite wide. However I've given up on sleeves for now lol
