Another amaryllis has come into flower. I didn't get to see the flowers properly on this one last year because a small person who shall remain nameless (I've forgotten which one!) accidentally broke the stem. It's rather pretty though, and there are a few more buds to open
I've just got this bread out the oven, it's the No Knead Artisan Bread recipe which we've tweaked slightly and cook in a loaf tin so it's better for making sandwiches. It makes excellent toast too
My fairy lights in the kitchen take the edge off the gloomy weather outside. Can't be sad when there are fairy lights around lol.
I'm going to make myself a cup of tea now, plonk myself down on the sofa...
...and do some sock knitting
Have a good week everyone :-)
Good for you for cheering yourself up. Gloomy, rainy weather can push your spirit down for sure. Your Amaryllis is gorgeous! My dog likes to sniff, knock over and then eat said plants so I haven't had one in quite sometime. And your beautiful bread is making me hungry!
ReplyDeleteThank you :) The bread was delicious, we had it toasted, once with baked beans and the next time with peanut butter, yummy :)
DeleteWhat a beautiful Amaryllis! Rainy days make me a little blah. While it isn't raining yet, it's cloudy and grey. A challenge to get the week off to the right start. Let's make the best of it!
ReplyDeleteWe had hail yesterday! I'm hoping things will improve by the weekend and then there will be lots of sunshine over the half term holiday
DeleteThat bread looks yummy, I will have to do some more bread soon!! Love the socks and the amaryllis is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteIt was delicious :)
DeleteBanish your gloomy weather to us across the pond. California desperately needs it. I'm coming over for some of that bread! I like the dramatic opening of that flower.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome to the rain, it's been wet on and off all week. We've even had hail a few times. Typically the rain likes to arrive just at the time I need to go out lol
Deletealways some sock knitting. We have gray skies today and well, I feel sad but I know it's because of the clouds. Here's hoping for the sun to peek out!!
ReplyDeleteGotta love socks :) Hope you get some more sunshine soon
DeleteI'm sorry you were feeling blue but i'm glad you had plenty around you to banish some of it away. We get a lot of rain and grey skies in Victoria during the winter - so i know how it feels when the blah descends. Thank goodness for happy colourful couch pillows!!!
