This row of picked up stitches caused me a bit of grief. I picked them up in a hurry and half way along the row I started picking them up half a stitch in from the original line. It was a tiny mistake, no one except me would probably ever notice it but it was irritating me.
So I dropped each stitch individually and then wove them back up coming from the correct place using a crochet hook. Very useful technique to learn, I originally read about it in my "Stitch and Bitch" book but it's one I've used many times over the years! It's a bit trickier with stitch patterns instead of plain stockinette but nearly always worth giving a go rather than frogging back several rows.
Of course the best idea is not to make any mistakes in the first place ;-) Sometimes little helpers can make that a bit harder though!
Linking up with other WIPW posts on Tami's Amis :-) Happy crafting!
Your sweater will be so pretty when it is done; you are doing a great job and your daughter is adorable! Did you make her dress?
ReplyDeleteThank you :-) Yeah I made her the dress as a Christmas present, it's the Bloom pattern by Georgie Hallam :-)
DeleteYour cardigan is coming along beautifully. The color is lovely. Your assistant is adorable:)
ReplyDeleteThank you :-)
DeleteGood for you - I'm not sure that I would attempt that sort of fix! Your daughter is adorable - what sunshine!
ReplyDeleteIt was time consuming rather than difficult. I figured if it didn't work then I'd be frogging back anyway so it was worth giving it a go :-)
DeleteThe construction of this cardigan is so cool!
ReplyDeleteIt's good fun, I'm really enjoying it :-)
DeleteOh I've definitely had my fair share of stitches-related frustration and misfortunes, I can sympathize. I don't think I've ever learned that method of dropping them, I'm going to have to follow up on that, thanks! I love the rug that is in the background of the photo with your adorable daughter.
ReplyDeleteThat little cherub is adorable in her knitted dress. Terrific progress on the cardi.
ReplyDeleteFab to see the cardi growing! I agree about the crochet hook I always keep one next to me as well when I knit! Can't wait to see cardi next week it isso lovely.
