WIP Wednesday

Not sure where my time is going at the moment but it feels like I'm getting nothing done but don't have the time to do things either. Very strange! Last week of school this week and then it's the Christmas holidays. I think the children are looking forward to a rest and I'm certainly looking forward to not having to do the school run in the cold and rain and maybe having some more crafting time if my OH can keep them entertained for a bit!

I've almost finished my last Christmas jumper. I need to weave in the ends, knit and sew on a pocket and then give it a quick wash and block. Shouldn't take too long as long as I get my backside in gear ;-)

I've not really worked much on my granny tree skirt. I've done a fourth square (out of 12) but not woven in the ends yet. I think because I have to plan out the colour order I'm not feeling as spontaneous when I'm working on it. I guess I need to stop making excuses and just get on with it lol

Someone asked me how I chose the colours for my granny tree skirt so I thought I'd show you:

The mirror was made by my Mum using a cardboard frame with paper mache, bright coloured emulsion paint, buckets of sequins, mirror card and goodness knows what else! I love it, and I love the colours in it. Our Christmas tree stands right next to the mirror so I used the colours in it as my inspiration for the colours in my tree skirt :-)

    1. Not quite finished in that photo as it needed a pocket but I've since added one. All wrapped up now ready for Christmas day :-)

  2. Don't worry, I haven't been very productive either lately. I guess that just always happens around the holidays. The jumper is adorable! Are those sparkles?

    1. Yup, it's got a silver thread in the yarn. Probably not very masculine but who cares when he's only 3 lol.

I'm feeling more productive now, I think the dark days were getting me down but now we've had the Solstice something in my mind feels happier because from now on it's going to get brighter :-)

  3. I'm near running out of steam. But I'm determined. And I think determination trumps energy. I'm going to finish my Christmas gifts before Christmas even if it means not sleeping for the next several days. :D

    1. You are very determined! Hope you get them all done in time and aren't too tired out afterwards! I can't knit when tired, I start making silly mistakes and then it takes me twice as long the next morning to correct them

  4. That looks like a cute sparkle in that jumper. What a creative mum you have and love how that table is set up.

    1. It's actually the mantle piece for the fireplace but hard to tell from that picture. Thank you :-) All jumpers/knitted gifts were well received by the children on Christmas day
