Yarn Along

I thought today that I'd share with you some pictures of my sock yarn blanket, and maybe a pair of socks I've got on the needles. This didn't quite go to plan...

This poor suffering puppy was left alone for just over 2 hours this morning while I went for a "run" (slow jog interspersed with lots of walking) and then again for 15 minutes while I had a shower and freshened up. Oh he suffers...

He is currently lying next to me on the sofa with his head on my lap. I'm having to strain to type with the laptop precariously balanced on the arm of the sofa. Poor baby lol

That's the best I can do for photos right now. I'm on my 36th square and starting to have to repeat colours to get it looking balanced. I guess I'll just have to knit more socks! Good job I've got lots of sock yarn lol.

My third and final chicken has started laying. The other two have been doing it for a while now but she took bit longer to get going. The egg on the left is hers, it's huge compared to the others, about 20% bigger. I'm glad I'm not a chicken!

  1. Your sock yarn blanket is coming along very well. I love the way that random colors come together.
I wish I had the energy to have chickens. It looks like so much fun!

    1. Thank you :)

To be fair they aren't particularly high maintance but the cleaning out does take a bit more effort. We're fairly lax about doing full clean-out's so I poo pick their house every morning and that keeps it fresher. More of an issue when the weather is warmer

  2. I love how the sock blanket is looking. You mean doggy mommy - making him wait 15 minutes alone while you shower. Shame on you! They are little characters, aren't they?

    1. I know, poor suffering boy lol. He bashed his leg walking out the door this afternoon and gave a pathetic yelp and then stood there with his leg held in the air. I had to fuss him and give it a rub and then he decided it was fine. He's like a toddler some times lol

  6. Your sock blanket is so beautiful! Our chickens are rather small size so their eggs look more like pigeon's :-)

  8. Oh, that's adorable! I remember having to leave my dog for 5 months with my parents and when I came back to get him he wouldn't even let me go to the bathroom :) Your blanket is growing steadily!
