Hey ho, at least I don't have to do any watering!
As you can see I've got 4 WIP's on the go at the moment and I've been doing a little bit of work on each of them as and when the mood takes me
Mr Soaring Sheep's sweater now has a slimmer sleeve. I'm at the point where I'd like to try it on him again to work out when would be best to stop the decreases
Mr Soaring Sheep's socks now have heels (fish lips kiss) and are nice and mindless to knit again. It's his birthday in a month's time so I think I'll try to get them done by then. He does love his knitted socks, they're the first ones he puts on :-)
These Rye socks for me haven't seen a lot of work recently but I'm not in any rush to finish them so happy to keep them for car knitting.
Lastly is a crochet project, something I've not been doing recently. It's going to be a simple blanket just using this palette of colours. I haven't decided what to do about the ends yet, whether to make it into a simple fringe, sew them in or possibly attach the whole blanket to a fleece backing and hide them that way. I'll have a think.
My gladioli have opened up and are looking absolutely gorgeous. I'll definitely be getting them again!
Thanks for hopping over to my blog, I'm linking up with Keep Calm Craft On and Yarn Along so click on the links for more crafty posts :-)
August bank holiday at the weekend so of course it is going to rain. At least I have more time for crochet if I can't get out in the garden... Your sweater really looks good and I love the colour palette of the crochet blanket.
ReplyDeleteYeah you're probably right. We're planning on doing a bit of decorating over the long weekend. Hope you get some time in your gardenn, or at least crocheting :)
DeleteHi Evelyn, pretty WIPs! It's always good to have several of them ;-). The sweater's cable stitch looks great and I like the colorful sock yarn. The blanket's pattern looks as if it will take a lot of patience to get a whole blanket whit it ready, but it's soo beautiful, it will be absolutely worth it! Oh and thanks for the gladioli pics, pretty blossoms in a fantastic color :-). Have a lovely day! Nata xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you :) Yeah I think the blanket will take a while as it's mainly just double crochet stitches :-S I'm not aiming for it to be bed-sized though so hopefully won't be too bad
DeleteLove your socks and glads. Hope it's sunny now and the chickens are happy. Too much rain can get rather dull.
ReplyDeleteThank you :) It is sunny and the chooks are currently enjoying a dustbath/sunbathing session in the garden
DeleteBeautiful shades of blue!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteGorgeous sweater - such a rich blue color! And your flower looks divine!! You are pretty bold using this crochet pattern, because it really leaves you with a lot of ends, I like your idea of turning them into the fringe!
ReplyDeleteThanks, the sweater is slightly less vibrant in real life but it's definitely a rich colour. I love it :)
DeleteWhat nice projects, I really like making things for my family too!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteThe cabling is just gorgeous. Too funny about your poor chickens, they didn't even like all that rain. Always scrumptious socks.
ReplyDeletethank you :) Yeah they're a bit precious lol
DeleteYour sweater is very handsome with it's dramatic front cable. It's wonderful that your husband loves his hand knit socks. I'm giving my husband his first pair for our anniversary this Fall. Crossing my fingers he doesn't think they're itchy.
ReplyDeleteThank you :) It definitely makes birthdays and Christmas's easy to make for lol. Hope your husband likes his socks :)
DeleteWhen are you hoping to get your sweater done by?, I like the idea of socks for a husbands birthday present. I've yet to knit a pair but I do have all the stuff! x
ReplyDeleteProbably within the next month or two. I haven't got a deadline for it but I'm keen to get it off the needles and start something else. Aw you should definitely try knitting socks, I've been reliably informed that sock yarn doesn't count as stash either ;-)
DeleteGorgeous projects and lucky Mr :) I love the front cabling on the sweater.
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteI think a knitter needs to have at least four WIPs going to avoid boredom and have both engaging and easy knitting handy!
ReplyDeleteHehe I normally stick with 3 so this is quite a lot for me lol
Deleteno rain here but we could use a few drops so feel free to send some over, your poor chickens being drowned out!! I'm glad you gave them more shelter until it stops tipping down. Love your sweater and your socks :)
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome to it, it's felt rather Autumnal these past few days. Luckily the sun is out today so I've got washing on the line and happy chooks roaming around the garden :-)
DeleteMy eyes always have fun with your visual color posts. I love that pop of red against the blue paint.
ReplyDeleteThe wall is actually a rich green colour but my camera thought otherwise. I can't believe I never bought this type of flower before, they're so striking
DeleteThe gladioli look amazing now don't they! xx
ReplyDeleteThey do, I'll definitely be buying more of them in the future
DeleteAlways look at the bright side. I'm melting in Montreal. :-)
